It has now been over a month since the opening round of the Star Mazda Championship in Sebring. Looking back at my teams winning efforts still brings a smile to my face. It was a great week from the beginning. Everybody was guessing on how the new Goodyear radial tires were going to affect the balance of the car and on Tuesday we found out. My engineer, Rick Cameron, had a good set up out of the box putting my teammate P1 and myself P2 in the first practice session.

Over the course of the next 2 days we continued improving the cars balance dropping my times below the 2 minute range and unofficially beating the track record. I was ready for qualifying once it arrived Thursday. The fast group had a red flag during the session, but that did not affect our performance as I qualified P1 by 1 second.

The standing start was interesting as it is still very foreign to me. The last time I did one was in England on my Team USA Scholarship tour. Anyways, the race went on flawlessly, and I won by a margin of 6.1 seconds. I still cannot thank my sponsors, team member, and other supporter enough for their help in winning the first race of the season.

During this break I have stayed up on my physical fitness training every week in various activities. Also, I was able to attend the Long Beach Grand Prix. I enjoyed the weekend walking around speaking with future teams because I would like to be racing in the event next year.

The next event is May 17^th at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. The JDC Motorsport crew is busy preparing my car for the event, and we will be conducting more test days prior to the first on track session.
